Training events and conferences provide opportunities for ministry leaders to gain valuable information, discover new ideas, make important connections, expand a network of contacts, and come away with new thinking and possibilities.
These programs differ in scope. Some are local, others regional, and a few, national. They differ as a type of event. Some are one or two day training seminars that provide new information. Others have a workshop style that is participant-intensive. Conferences differ in that they provide a mixture of inspiration, training, and ample networking opportunities. The focus of events and conferences also differs. Some equip leaders for the work of their mission. Others help organizations by having a work facilitation emphasis. One thing is sure. There are many opportunities for ministry leaders to gain training that is an important part of leadership development.
The events calendar in this website is by no means a complete listing of training opportunities. We don’t hear about everything that is happening. We exclude in-house training offered by many organizations. And we have chosen not to include programs that have an exclusive emphasis on local church ministry.
The calendar offers information on the scope, focus, and type of event. We’ve listed the title, key presenters/speakers, and the sponsoring organization. Most important, we have provided a link so you can get all of the details on events that could be important to your work.
We’ve also provided a listing of other organizations that offer a calendar of events that may be beneficial to you. You can use our guide to link to their calendars.
We need input so we can make this resource really valuable. If you know of an event we’ve not yet listed, contact us and include some brief information and a link to the sponsor’s website. We will consider listing it, though we will not guarantee its inclusion.
Our listings of training events and conferences should not be taken as an endorsement by the Murdock Trust and its Christian Leadership Initiative. Our purpose has been to provide information on opportunities so you can check them out on your own. Should you find that one of these events has been an excellent training experience, we invite you to contact us. |
